Your insurance company doesn’t get to pick your body shop.
In Texas that choice is yours, and it’s written into the law. Collision Clinic has been the shop Fort Bend families choose since 1983.

What Texas law actually says
When you file an auto claim in Texas, your insurance company is required to give you a written notice. It says, word for word:
“By law, you have the right to select where your motor vehicle is repaired and the parts used for repairs.”
Notice required of Texas insurers — 28 TAC §5.501That’s not our opinion. It’s the notice the state requires every carrier to hand you, and it comes from Texas Insurance Code §1952.301, which bars an insurer from limiting where you have your vehicle repaired.
An adjuster can recommend a shop. Some will recommend one firmly, more than once. What they cannot do is require it. Your insurer isn’t obligated to pay more than a reasonable amount for the repair — but which shop does the work is your call, not theirs.
Why the shop they recommend isn’t always the shop you want
Shops on an insurer’s direct repair program sign an agreement with that carrier. Those agreements cover pricing, parts sourcing, and how quickly cars move through the building. There’s nothing secret or improper about them — but they do mean the shop has a second party to keep happy.
We don’t have one of those agreements. Our only agreement is with you, and the only deadline we work to is the one the repair actually needs.
What happens when you bring the claim to us
Call us
Before you’ve filed, after you’ve filed, or after you’ve already been sent somewhere else — any point is fine. (281) 261-0124
We get the car
If it isn’t drivable we’ll tow it in. The tow is free when we do the repair, and on an insurance claim your policy will usually cover the tow either way.
We write a complete estimate
Photographed and documented line by line, including the damage you can’t see until the panels come off.
We deal with the adjuster
Supplements, hidden damage, parts disputes — that’s our phone call to make, not yours.
You approve, we repair
And our body and paint work carries a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
Already have an estimate you’re not sure about?
Bring it in. Second opinions are free and they take about twenty minutes. We’ll walk you through what’s on the sheet, what’s missing, and what it means for the car.
And if the first estimate was right, we’ll tell you that too.
Four decades of Fort Bend neighbors
We’ve been on FM 1092 since 1983. A lot of the cars we work on belong to people whose parents brought us their cars too.

Questions we get every week
Do I have to use the body shop my insurance company recommends?
No. Texas law gives you the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired and what parts are used. Your insurer can suggest a shop; it cannot require one, and choosing your own shop doesn’t invalidate your claim.
Will it cost me more to use my own shop?
Your deductible is your deductible wherever the work is done. Your insurer isn’t required to pay more than a reasonable amount for the repair, and we work with adjusters on that figure every day.
Who pays for the tow?
On an insurance claim, towing is typically covered by your policy. If you’re paying out of pocket, the tow is free when we do the repair — and we’ll tell you what it would cost before the truck leaves, so there are no surprises.
What if my car isn’t drivable?
Call us and we’ll arrange the tow. You don’t need to move it yourself or leave it at a storage lot racking up daily fees.
How long will my repair take?
It depends on the damage and how fast parts arrive. We’ll give you a real estimate up front and tell you when it changes, rather than quoting you a number we already know we’ll miss.
Which insurance companies do you work with?
All of the major carriers. We bill them directly and handle the supplements, so the back-and-forth stays between us and the adjuster.
Bring us the car. We’ll take it from there.
Call (281) 261-0124 or send your photos and we’ll get started today.
